Before the days of kerosene and electric light, a nightlight was a practical object used to move between dark rooms. It was also used as a bedside lamp, just as its name suggests.
Gysinge’s night candlestick is based on an early 19th century model. The candle holder is turned in advance and is height adjustable. The base is cast. High quality brass. Made and polished by hand by Morells klockgjuteri in Mora.
The candlestick has a lovely solid feel. Untreated brass. Height 110mm, diameter 100mm.

Koholmen is an excellent alternative to ordinary candlesticks. The kerosene lamp was the lighting technology that preceded electric lighting and the dominant light source in Swedish homes until the First World War. Today, kerosene lamps are mainly used as mood lighting as a more efficient alternative to candlesticks of various kinds. A room lit by kerosene lamps is something very special with the warm glow and the beautiful shadows that only a living flame can provide.
