Matt Linseed Oil Paint is a beautiful paint with an exceptionally matt finish and intensely deep color. It is incredibly versatile, easy to paint with and adheres easily to most surfaces. It is particularly beautiful as an indoor wall or ceiling paint. But it can also be used on plastered surfaces, furniture and carpentry.

Our different colors are suitable for both historical and modern environments and they harmonize well with each other.

Our matt linseed oil paint is handmade in our own factory from pigments and the finest linseed oil. Because the paint is thicker than ordinary linseed oil paint and contains rich pigments, you get full coverage after only two coats. It also has a fast drying time (four hours)!

Another advantage of matt linseed oil paint is that it can be painted relatively thickly without problems. This can be useful, for example, when you want the paint to fill in a lot of nail holes and irregularities. It is even possible to paint the color with a thick paintbrush, instead of a regular brush! Of course, the most beautiful result is if you paint thinly and several times, but unlike ordinary linseed oil paint, “raisins” do not form when you apply the matte linseed oil paint too thickly. And it dries, even if it is painted too thickly.

Contents: Cold-pressed boiled linseed oil, solvents and color pigments.

Properties: Quick-drying. Good hiding power. Good adhesiveness.

Intended for: Indoors. Excellent for ceiling and wall cladding. Suitable on wood, cardboard, plaster, masonry etc. Suitable for stencilling. Can also be used as a sanding base.

Consumption: 1 liter is enough for 10 – 12 square meters per application.

Colors: The paint is available in a number of ready-to-break colors. The paint can be broken by mixing the desired colors with each other. The paint can also be refracted with ordinary linseed oil paint, but at stronger refraction than 20% the color can become flammable.

Gloss: Full matt.

Thinner: turpentine balsam.

Suitable painting conditions: Room temperature (the lower the room temperature, the longer the drying time). Good ventilation.

Drying time: Approximately 4 hours. Overpaintable in about 24 hours.

Equipment: Matt linseed oil paint is best applied with a heavy paint brush. Do not roll or spray.

Brush wash: Wash first with turpentine, then with linseed oil soap and water.

Durability: The paint ages only through abrasion, which is why the painted surface can, in principle, be as old as you like.

Brown Umbra, would probably be called “coffee latte” if it were a modern color, but because it is mixed from natural colored pimento, it is more vibrant than today’s colors and has a mocha like luster. Strong 18th and 19th century feel.

The matte linseed oil paint is a linseed oil paint with an incredibly fast drying time (four hours), even if you paint it thickly. It does not even wrinkle. It looks like glue paint, but it is so much easier to paint with.

The history of our colors:

Even King Gustaf III fell in love with monochrome walls. During his and the court’s trip to Italy in 1783-84, he was deeply taken by classical painting with elegantly plain walls and borders, often in strongly divergent colors.

In Pompeii, for example, he saw files of rooms in yellow, pink, blue and green, a fashion that he and his architects and craftsmen were then able to introduce in Sweden. We understand that his ideas blew the air out of the then overblown Rococo. Imagine that solid colors could be so beautiful! Imagine that natural pigments could make walls so vibrant! And how harmonious and peaceful it becomes.

The color choices of the late Gustavian era lived on throughout the 19th century. The Charles John era, for example, loved solid colors.

Solid-colored walls received another boost at the beginning of the 20th century, and were also an important element of the sparse functionalist style.

Imagine an elegant manor house in a variety of colors, or a small cottage that suddenly becomes calm and exclusive thanks to the flour-matted, solid-colored walls.

And for those who want to recreate an absolutely definite era, you can combine with stretcher bars in models from the 18th to 20th century.

Or you can paint with stencils (using the same matte linseed oil paint!)

Or why not delineate the ceiling with a gold baguette strip or just a brush stroke in the wall color?

Here you have “Culture in a can”. Just open the can and paint. Not only those who live in a cultural center, but also those who live with latex and fiberglass.
