Gysinge’s own sealing strip has no synthetic admixture, but is made entirely of wool.
Wool, unlike other textile fibers, is an elastic material that swells in large gaps and shrinks where space is limited. In addition, wool repels moisture, while flax and cotton, for example, absorb it.
Wool is therefore the ideal material for weatherstripping, sealing against draughts and dust, yet allowing the house to breathe.
Available in two thicknesses: 5 mm for windows. 8 mm for doors and thicker gaps.
Best applied with a staple gun, but can also be nubbed.
The sealing strip or wool cord is reusable and can be removed when repainting and put back again afterwards. Should last about a generation.
100% Wool. Swedish made for Gysinge. Also called wool cord. Thickness 5mm or 8mm.
