Kerosene lamp Skeppsholmen, a larger version of the popular Koholmen. The oil housing is in mouth-blown clear glass. The original Koholmen model was already in the Karlskrona lamp factory’s range at the end of the 19th century, but reached a wider audience in the 1950s. The pendant is made of untreated brass. Brass – or poor man’s gold, as it used to be called – is a non-magnetic copper alloy, where copper is alloyed with zinc. The higher the copper content, the yellower the tone. Untreated brass oxidizes over time and gives a beautiful matte yellow-brown tone with patina.
