Matt Linseed Oil Paint is a beautiful paint with an exceptionally matt finish and intensely deep color. It is incredibly versatile, easy to paint with and adheres easily to most surfaces. It is particularly beautiful as an indoor wall or ceiling paint. But it can also be used on plastered surfaces, furniture and carpentry.

Our different colors are suitable for both historical and modern environments and they harmonize well with each other.

Our matt linseed oil paint is handmade in our own factory from pigments and the finest linseed oil. Because the paint is thicker than ordinary linseed oil paint and contains rich pigments, you get full coverage after only two coats. It also has a fast drying time of four hours!

Another advantage of matt linseed oil paint is that it can be painted relatively thickly without problems. This can be useful, for example, when you want the paint to fill in a lot of nail holes and irregularities. It is even possible to paint the paint with a thick paint brush, instead of a regular brush.

Of course, the result is more beautiful if you paint thinly and several times, but unlike ordinary linseed oil paint, “raisins” do not form when you apply the matte linseed oil paint too thickly.

Gulockra nature

Linseed oil paint Gulockra Natur

Classic golden yellow color that has been used unbroken for almost 300 years as a door and window color outdoors. It has the same warmth as oak. It has also been used to create the illusion of oak. It is also commonly mixed with white to give a manor yellow color (30 – 10% yellow ochre).

Our Gulockra linseed oil paint was replaced in 2017 with Gulockra natural linseed oil paint, which is made entirely from the finest earth color pigment imaginable, golden ochre from France. A linseed oil paint pigmented with genuine earth color pigments gives an extra dimension to the painted surface.

The pigment is made from clay soils that have been washed and bleached by nature itself over thousands of years and is produced in the same way today as it was hundreds of years ago. Natural clay pigments such as golden ochre and red ochre are both muted and vibrant, giving natural color tones.

If you want the same shade as previous breaks of our previous color gulockra, you should break according to the table below when breaking with Gulockra natur.

Externally, it is often seen on window frames; internally, it is a very common color on the fixed kitchen furniture and in the kitchen and hallway as a wall color. Jugendgrön is therefore closely associated with beadboard panels in particular, but it was also often used on furniture. As a color, it can be described as a light chrome oxide green, but yellower and at the same time a little brighter green. In interior painting at the beginning of the 20th century, it was often combined with Jugendbeige on linings, windows and doors, but a darker color, about 7-15% unfired umber, is also a common contrast color to Jugendgrön.

Manor yellow

Linseed oil paint manor yellow

In the 18th century, yellow became the color of the new mansions and it also became common on the plastered buildings of the cities. Of course, in the 19th century, the common wooden houses followed suit. When the color red became too common to confer status, wealthier city dwellers chose to clad their houses in wood paneling and linseed oil paint them yellow with grey details. At first, only the street facade might be painted, but eventually the whole house was painted yellow, while the outbuildings often retained their fake red color.

Traditionally, yellow houses were painted in a milder yellow color than what we often see today. With tradition in mind, we have therefore developed a manor yellow color that gives your facade a beautiful, warm and soft feeling.

The matte linseed oil paint is a linseed oil paint with an incredibly fast drying time (four hours), even if you paint it thickly. It does not even wrinkle. It looks like glue paint, but it is so much easier to paint with.

The history of our colors:

Even King Gustaf III fell in love with monochrome walls. During his and the court’s trip to Italy in 1783-84, he was deeply taken by classical painting with elegantly plain walls and borders, often in strongly divergent colors.

In Pompeii, for example, he saw files of rooms in yellow, pink, blue and green, a fashion that he and his architects and craftsmen were then able to introduce in Sweden. We understand that his ideas blew the air out of the then overblown Rococo. Imagine that solid colors could be so beautiful! Imagine that natural pigments could make walls so vibrant! And how harmonious and peaceful it becomes.

The color choices of the late Gustavian era lived on throughout the 19th century. The Charles John era, for example, loved solid colors.

Solid-colored walls received another boost at the beginning of the 20th century, and were also an important element of the sparse functionalist style.

Imagine an elegant manor house in a variety of colors, or a small cottage that suddenly becomes calm and exclusive thanks to the flour-matted, solid-colored walls.

And for those who want to recreate an absolutely definite era, you can combine with stretcher bars in models from the 18th to 20th century.

Or you can paint with stencils (using the same matte linseed oil paint!)

Or why not delineate the ceiling with a gold baguette strip or just a brush stroke in the wall color?

Here you have “Culture in a can”. Just open the can and paint. Not only those who live in a cultural center, but also those who live with latex and fiberglass.

It also has a fast drying time (four hours)!

Another advantage of matt linseed oil paint is that it can be painted relatively thickly without problems. This can be useful, for example, when you want the paint to fill in a lot of nail holes and irregularities. It is even possible to paint the color with a thick paintbrush, instead of a regular brush!
