Agave in copper sheet 15 leaves

The agave plant (Latin agave americana) is a classic outdoor plant for more lavish plantings in castles and mansions, for example.

True agave is a Mediterranean plant that in our climate requires greenhouses in winter. For this reason, it has also only been found on wealthier farms with orangeries or other means of frost-free winter storage.

Most often the agaves were planted in cast iron urns, mostly in pairs at the main entrance, or on the gate posts.

Alongside the genuine agaves, there have also been imitations in painted black plate.

Tin roofs do not grow too big. They can also withstand freezing temperatures. If they are skillfully painted, they can look so much like their predecessors that no one can tell the difference. There’s just one problem – over time, the metal rusts and the paint wears off.

Our developed agaves are therefore made of specially colored copper sheet. By using green-colored copper plate already during production, we have come extremely close to the appearance of the original plant.

The scarring starts when the plants are placed outdoors, and the resulting color changes make the “fake” agave look even more like the real thing over the years.

The tin roofs, which are a piece of qualified Swedish copper warehousing, are delivered ready assembled, just to stick into a pot with sand or soil, or directly into the bed.

Flowerpot

Hand-turned flowerpots and saucers of the traditional variety. Flowerpot production became an industry and mass production in Sweden around the turn of the century 1900. Before then, all pots were made by hand, as were the saucers. The profession was called pottery. Typical of handmade pots is that you can see the potter’s hands in the ware. The imprints from the hand-turning process create low ridges on the surface and show through on the outside. A hand-turned pot is therefore not as smooth as a machine pot, it is more personal and has more life and variety. A detail that also reveals the real craftsmanship is the soft, rounded rim at the top. It can certainly be made by machine, but it will never be as soft and individual as on a hand-turned pot.

Pastoral flock

This particular type of pastoral pattern, in this case a “picnic by the canal”, was fashionable in the latter part of the 19th century, especially in France and England, but also in the United States during the colonial period. Sewn-in paspoals.

Linseed oil paint Green Umbra 2%

Broken warm white. White off-white with 2% Green Umbra.

Nearest NCS S 1002-Y

100% it is dark gray-brown, broken with white it is warm gray. It is available in the following percentages: 2%, 7%, 15%, 30%, 60%.

When you want to paint knots and linings on wooden houses from the 18th to the 20th century, it is good to know that there was a different amount of refraction of the white color in different eras.

The most common was 30% green umber in the 18th century, giving a distinct limestone gray hue. During the 19th century, the fashion lightens and the “white” color often ended up around 15% green umber.

By the turn of the century, however, only light, soft white is the highest fashion, corresponding to 2% green umber.

Since the same colors and the same paint qualities were also painted indoors with roughly the same timetable, our ready-made paints are suitable for both indoors and outdoors. Indoors, this linseed oil paint was used on windows, carpentry, breast panels, doors and more.

Linseed oil paint youth beige

Jugendbeige is a color that was common in interiors from the 1890s to the 1930s. The color has a tendency towards ivory and can therefore easily be perceived as “impure white”, which is also the intention. In early 20th century interior painting, Jugendbeige is often combined with Jugendgrönt on panels, and the spirit of the era is further enhanced if Jugendbeige joinery paint is used in living rooms in combination with dark-bottomed paper wallpapers that are true to the period.

Matt linseed oil paint 1% Burnt Umbra

1% Unburnt umber is a light color with a slightly nougat feel, reminiscent of white chocolate. A beautiful pleasant color.

The matte linseed oil paint is a linseed oil paint with an incredibly fast drying time (four hours), even if you paint it thickly. It does not even wrinkle. It looks like glue paint, but it is so much easier to paint with.

The history of our colors:

Even King Gustaf III fell in love with monochrome walls. During his and the court’s trip to Italy in 1783-84, he was deeply taken by classical painting with elegantly plain walls and borders, often in strongly divergent colors.

In Pompeii, for example, he saw files of rooms in yellow, pink, blue and green, a fashion that he and his architects and craftsmen were then able to introduce in Sweden. We understand that his ideas blew the air out of the then overblown Rococo. Imagine that solid colors could be so beautiful! Imagine that natural pigments could make walls so vibrant! And how harmonious and peaceful it becomes.

The color choices of the late Gustavian era lived on throughout the 19th century. The Charles John era, for example, loved solid colors.

Solid-colored walls received another boost at the beginning of the 20th century, and were also an important element of the sparse functionalist style.

Imagine an elegant manor house in a variety of colors, or a small cottage that suddenly becomes calm and exclusive thanks to the flour-matted, solid-colored walls.

And for those who want to recreate an absolutely definite era, you can combine with stretcher bars in models from the 18th to 20th century.

Or you can paint with stencils (using the same matte linseed oil paint!)

Or why not delineate the ceiling with a gold baguette strip or just a brush stroke in the wall color?

Here you have “Culture in a can”. Just open the can and paint. Not only those who live in a cultural center, but also those who live with latex and fiberglass.

Matt linseed oil paint 1% Gulockra

1% Gulockra, an off-white, eggshell white color. A classic. Suitable for all environments.

Nearest NCS S 0505-Y30R

Matt Linseed Oil Paint is a beautiful paint with an exceptionally matt finish and intensely deep color. It is incredibly versatile, easy to paint with and adheres easily to most surfaces. It is particularly beautiful as an indoor wall or ceiling paint. But it can also be used on plastered surfaces, furniture and carpentry.

Our different colors are suitable for both historical and modern environments and they harmonize well with each other. Our matt linseed oil paint is handmade in our own factory from pigments and the finest linseed oil. Because the paint is thicker than ordinary linseed oil paint and contains rich pigments, you get full coverage after only two coats. It also has a fast drying time of four hours!

Another advantage of matt linseed oil paint is that it can be painted relatively thickly without problems. This can be useful, for example, when you want the paint to fill in a lot of nail holes and irregularities. It is even possible to paint the color with a thick paintbrush, instead of a regular brush! Of course, the most beautiful result is if you paint thinly and several times, but unlike ordinary linseed oil paint, “raisins” do not form when you apply the matte linseed oil paint too thickly. And it dries, even if it is painted too thickly.

ATTENTION! The color reproduction on the screen is not 100% accurate.
